Why a few minutes beats an hour

Everything here is built around short, daily practice rather than long sessions, because that is what the evidence supports. Material spread across many brief sittings is retained far better than the same material crammed into one โ€” an effect so well established it has its own name, the spacing effect.

So the Daily Quiz asks one question, not twenty. The Congak challenge runs about two minutes on a school night and around five at the weekend. A game of Sudoku takes as long as a queue at the mamak. None of it is designed to fill an evening, and none of it punishes you for missing a day beyond breaking a streak.

What's actually here

The 21 games split roughly into logic (Sudoku, Minesweeper), memory (Number Memory, Simon Says, Memory Match), words (Wordle, Hangman, Anagram, Word Search), arithmetic (Number Pop, Whack-a-Mole) and attention (Reaction Time, Color Match). Four of them โ€” Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect Four, Checkers and Dots & Boxes โ€” can be played against another person on the same phone.

Alongside them sit 6 everyday tools that have nothing to do with play: a GPA and CGPA calculator on the 4.00 scale Malaysian universities use, an SST and income tax calculator at Malaysian rates, unit conversion, exact ages, a random picker and a team splitter. Several exist because a teacher needed them.

The mental arithmetic is congak โ€” the rapid oral practice taught in Malaysian primary schools โ€” rather than a generic maths drill, and the whole site runs in English and Bahasa Malaysia one tap apart. If you grew up switching between the two, nothing here asks you to pick.

Free, and no account needed

Every game, tool and quiz is free. There is no paid tier, nothing to install, and no in-game purchases. You can play the whole site without registering โ€” an account only saves your streaks and scores to the server, so they survive a cleared cache and follow you from your phone to a laptop.

The site is funded by advertising, which is why ads appear at the foot of some pages. There is no chat and no way for one player to contact another, which matters given how many of the people here are children.

Pick anything above and start โ€” or read more about who built this and why on our About page.
